Freezing outside
I walked to the store today and it was really freezing. I'm glad I ddidn't have to go far.
I hope everybody stays indoors unless they really have to go out for food or to do something important.
I hope it doesn't snow or rain now while it is so cold.
Stay warm

Hi Arjo
As I mentioned in my post today, it would be nice if some of the younger shareholders asked the senior citizens if they needed any assistance or groceries. Guess that is not the custom in this day and age.

I agree with you
I agree with you maryf. The people in each building should be aware of senior citizens in their bulding (who live alone) and should offer to help them sometimes, especially doing shopping during the winter months when it is difficult traveling to the store. I think management should have some system where they could check every so often to make sure a senior citizen is doing well and not in need of medical help, etc. Maybe the seniors could call a special number once of twice a week and leave a message that they are okay. If management didn't hear from each senior in one week, they would then have a reason to check to see if that senior was okay.
Wonder what others think?

Recration room
I thought someone mentioned something about making the Recreation Room in Bldg. 5 available to the senior citizen shareholders a few days a week during the cold winter months, so they would have some place to meet other seniors and discuss things of interest and possible enjoy some recorded music, etc. Or allow them a few hours during the daytime when the room is not being used for another function.
Just a thought.
As it is now, the roof rapair material is closing off one side of the courtyard and there are very few places to sit and also when it gets very cold, the seniors cannot go outside to meet friends and therefore the Recreation room in Bldg. 5 would be a perfect place
for them to meet and spend an hour or two with friends and neighbors.

Re: Freezing outside
I think that is a great idea Pearl, especially now when seniors on the top floors are home all day long during the (sometimes very loud) roof repairs.
People who work during the day do not hear the noise, but those of us who are home during the day time have no where to go to escape the repairs, walking, jack-hammering, etc.
