Ringing downstairs bells

Post  brendan2 on Mon Jan 09, 2012 7:24 pm

I hope people are not "buzzing" in anyone who rings their downstair's (lobby) bell. Even if they say "UPS."
I did that once a long time ago when I was expecting a UPS package, but then no one came up to my door. I went downstairs and there was no UPS truck. And so it was probably someone who just wanted to get into the building. I've learned my lesson and don't ring the bell for UPS unless I know where the package is coming from.

I agree with you that no one should buzz anyone into the building unless they know who they are. If I see someone waiting to get into the building, I go around to the gate and let myself in that way. I do not let people walk in when I open the door. You never know who you are letting into the building, especially since the roof doors are not locked anyone can go on the roof and possibly climb down the fire-escape to get into someone's open kitchen window. Just too dangerous.
